Marki MMIC Products

Recent developments in the III-V semiconductor, including a dramatic reduction in prototyping cost and the wide availability of pure play foundries, combined with Marki’s expertise in first past design success, have made it possible for Marki to offer a wide variety of MMIC products across diverse product lines in a remarkably short period of time. Marki offers three major types of MMICs: diode based, passive, and transistor based products.

Diode MMIC Products: Mixers, IQ Mixers, Multipliers, Limiters, and Nonlinear Transmission Lines

Our previous success with first hybrid and then Microlithic diode products such as mixers, doublers, and IQ mixers gave Marki the early edge to produce the best MMIC products in these fields available in the world. Marki’s superior design methods combined with the repeatability and economies of scale of GaAs fabrication result in best in class performance at a lower price than the competition. These product lines include a complete set of double balanced mixers with multiple diode levels from 1 to 67 GHz, triple balanced mixers including T3 type mixers, and an expanding line of high suppression doublers and high image reject IQ mixers. New product lines enabled by MMIC technology include the nonlinear transmission line comb generators, schottky diode voltage limiters, and other new product lines yet to be released. Passive MMIC Products: Diplexers, Filters, Baluns, and Equalizers

Even without active devices such as diodes and transistors, the superior fabrication tolerances, repeatability, and economies of scale that result from volume GaAs wafer production allow Marki to build passive MMICs with higher frequency coverage, superior repeatability, and more affordable pricing than was possible with other process technologies. Examples of this include higher frequency diplexers than are possible on traditional PCBs, lower cost surface mount baluns, and very low cost yet high frequency equalizer chips. The fast turnaround for prototype orders also means that Marki can offer custom MMIC passive devices with lead times no longer than for our traditional hybrid passive components. Transistor MMIC Products: LO Amplifiers

For years Marki offered off-the-shelf MMIC amplifiers from captive foundries packaged into module and surface mount packages. Now with access to transistor processes competitive with anyone in the world Marki is able to offer efficient, affordable, and proven custom LO driver designs specifically built to drive the T3, the world’s highest dynamic range mixer. These amplifiers are available in module or surface mount QFN form.
